Quick takes- January 2017

Something Borrowed. 1 star. I usually like this author, but "It's ok to have an affair with your best friend's fiancee as long as she's kind of a bitch," is not a great concept to build your story on.

The Couple Next Door. Very generous 3 stars. So over the top, goofy thriller, where every possible twist happens. This needed a few red herrings.

Behold the Dreamers. 4 stars. Can't believe this was a debut. Totally worth the hype.

Something about this book really brought me down; I mean, other than the fact that it's a really depressing memoir about someone plagued by terrible health problems for most of her life until eventually dying of a heroin overdose. The week in review

Another busy week, with New Year's and a sneak trip to Great Wolf Lodge, but my kids finally went back to school yesterday (yay!) and I always read faster when I'm not liking something (boo!) There are a few books I'm very eagerly awaiting but here's what I went through this week:

The week in review

Been a very busy week, with the holiday and the kids home and family visiting, so while I did manage to do a fair amount of running, baking, and the other stuff, it was kind of light on the reading. I did finish two and start two, so here we go.
