The week in review

Once again, I am looking over the last seven days and am surprised that it’s only been a week. Time does not fly by for me, even though I do feel like I’m having fun. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I finished Was, and I just posted about it!  I love this book even if it meanders a little at the end. This is really interesting and entertaining, and holds a lot of sentimental value for me. True hidden gem here.

Next up was Marlena. This one might be a casualty of too much hype. I was really excited to read this, but it didn’t really click for me in the way I’d hoped. I love when stories jump back and forth from past to present, but in this one, I found the present day storyline so much more interesting, but much more time was spent on the past. I don’t know what to say about it, it’s fine, perfectly fine, but it will not stick with me.

Anything Is Possible, on the other hand, lived up to all my expectations and will stick with me forever. God, I just cannot get enough of Elizabeth Strout; she is perfection. This is interconnected stories, which might be my favorite genre, and it features Lucy, totally beloved main character from My Name Is Lucy Barton. Am I being clear about how much I loved this? Totally inhaled it and loved everything about it ILU Elizabeth Strout true love forever.

Kind of nowhere to go but down from there, but I’m giving A Separation my best shot. I am about halfway through, and I am not crazy about the writing style but it’s sort of growing on me. I am curious how it will resolve, so I’m logging off now to get to it. I will let you know how it goes, but of course, no spoilers!
